About In-District Services
SAGE Day has been serving special education students in Northern New Jersey for over 14 years. During that time, we have built a reputation among child study teams, mental health professionals, parents and students as the program that best understands how to help students overcome the emotional difficulties than can interfere with academic and social functioning. Our success stems from our belief that all troubled students can be helped as well as our understanding of how best to reach them. We know how to intervene with the special education student and recognize that there are special needs students who can benefit greatly from staying in-district if the proper components are in place.
Early Intervention
Every year child study teams and districts identify students whose needs are beyond what the structure of the traditional school and child study team can meet. Child study team professionals understand what these discouraged students need but also recognize that they lack the time and resources necessary for the most effective intervention. Many of these troubled students are identified when problems are just beginning. With early intervention these problems can be mitigated; if left unchecked the problems can become very severe and necessitate more restrictive intervention.
SAGE Day In-district Services is designed to fill the gap in service between traditional in-school support and an out-of-district placement. Our skilled clinical team will work with the child study team, academic staff and administration to provide a seamless counseling experience for the student. With the right therapeutic relationship and counseling, students will gain the support, strategies and insight they need in order to make progress in school and to better manage their emotional lives.
SAGE Consultation Services brings both the educational and counseling expertise that are the essential components of effective school-based intervention. We understand what it is like to run a school and how to integrate supports and counseling into a school day.
